With the ebb and flow of life the group has changed members, but all hold this group close to their hearts. The diversity of the individuals in the ensemble make it possible to relate to a wide spectrum of people. The richness of their combined voices delights audiences and stirs the soul. What binds them together is the message of their songs: singing for God and His grace and mercy is what makes this group of men lift their hearts in song!

  • Jim Bartel

    Jim lives in Hesston, Kansas. He has been a member of the Hearts 4 Him ministry team since its inception in 2001. Jim and his wife Diane enjoy spending time with their three children, nine grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren. His career includes public education, custom harvesting and serving in the church in caregiving and music. Since high school his love for music has inspired him to organize various vocal groups to sing God’s praises. His love for sports continues during his retirement.

  • RJ Tippin

    RJ resides with his wife Mary Ellen south of Newton, Kansas where a good portion of his retirement time involves caring for their place in the country which provides a great location to spend time with their 20 grandchildren. While raising 5 children, God’s gift of music has always been a part of our family. Singing together as a family over the years gave us an opportunity to honor our God and Father. Now, after joining Hearts 4 Him in 2022, RJ is thankful to be able to enjoy singing praises to God with this great group of men.

  • Jim Yoder

    Jim is the lead/2nd tenor singer and he lives near Newton, KS. He has been a member of the group since it was formed in 2001. He has sung with numerous groups and bands over the years. He is the facilitator of Wichita’s Survivors of Suicide Loss support group. Jim enjoys his children, grandchildren, horses, camping and golf.

  • Duane Loewen

    Duane and his wife Kathy live east of Newton, KS. They have seven children and nine grandchildren. Besides spending time with family, Duane also enjoys gardening and raising African violets. he received a Mathematics degree from Tabor College and has had a career in software engineering since graduation. Some of the church ministries he has been involved in are singing on the Sunday morning worship team, leading small group Bible studies, and teaching adult Sunday School. Duane’s love for singing began in childhood when his family would spend tie singing together around the piano on Sunday afternoons and at extended family gatherings. A highlight was occasionally singing in a quartet with his father and uncles. He has enjoyed being part of various choirs, quartets, and social vocal group sthrought the years. He has been a member of the Heart 4 Him group since 2002. “I Will sing to the Lord as long as I live; I will sing praise to my God while I have being.”

  • Jason Jones

    Jason lives in Hesston with his wife Tracy and son Jace. As a singer/songwriter, Jason has been performing Christian music for 20+ years. He has been a member of Hearts 4 Him since 2021. He is the Director of Bluestem Wellness for Bluestem Communities. He has a strong background in music and theater, but his true passion is using his gift of music for the Glory of God.

  • Bob Good

    Bob and his wife Twila live in Moundridge, KS. He joined Hearts 4 Him in 2023 and is currently the newest member of the group, joining the bass singers. Daily time is enjoyed with two sons, their wives, five grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. In addition, fun times and hobbies include riding motorcycle and wood working in addition to music. His career includes 42 years at Agco Corporation in various Materials Department positions and then 7 years at Excel Industries. Musically, Bob sand in high school and college and has sung with several choruses and quartets over the years.

  • Nancy Hofer

    Nancy and her husband Lowell are both retired from teaching in Wichita and enjoy living in the country near Hesston. God has blessed them with three sons and daughters-in-law and 7 wonderful grand joys. She plays with the worship band at her church, as well as teaching 5th-6th grade Sunday School. Nancy loves clouds and trees and has way too many pictures proving it. She also enjoys reading (and audio books), board games, word and jigsaw puzzles, and arts and crafts. She is very thankful for salvation through Jesus! Nancy has been playing for hearts for him since November 2024. A favorite Bible verse is Zephaniah 3:17: “The LORD your God is in your midst, a mighty one Who will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness; He will quiet you by His love, He will exult over you with loud singing.”

  • Doug Yoder

    Doug is a 3rd generation farmer near Yoder, KS. He and his wife Jolene have two sons and enjoy eight grandchildren. Thrifty three years of the ‘farming career’ were spent dairying. Doug has had an interest in music from earliest childhood memories with a particular interest in stringed instruments. Doug has enjoyed playing the bass guitar for Hearts 4 Him since 2017.

  • Broxton Busenitz

    Broxton lives in Wichita, Kansas. He has been a member of H4H ministry since 2012. Broxton and his wife, Jessica, stay very busy chasing their three young children. He currently works at Spirit Aerosystems as a Defense Program Control and Scheduling. Broxton entered his first singing competition in 4th grade. Since then, he has had the opportunity to sing in many high school, college, and church groups. He was even able to travel internationally with some of these groups. Singing for the Lord and His glory has been one of Broxton’s greatest joys in life.

  • Dave Deutschendorf

    Dave was born the 12th child of his family in Corn, Oklahoma. He and his wife, Arva, live in Newton, Kansas. After receiving a degree from Tabor College he was in education as a guidance counselor in several different schools. Dave and Arva have been married for 60 years and have two children and four grandchildren. They continue to be active in pursuing the athletic events of their grandchildren. Dave has been with H4H for 21 years and he continues to enjoy singing bass with the group.

  • Brian Butler

    Brian and his wife Susanne live in Lehigh, Kansas where they have raised eight children, four boys and four girls. After putting his faith in Jesus for salvation in high school, Brian felt the call to use music to minister to the church and spread the good news and so graduated from Tabor College with a degree in music education. However, the Lord had different plans for his career, and graciously provided a job with Barkman Honey in Hillsboro, KS, where Brian has served for 25 years as a software developer and data analyst. At many key moments in his life, whether meeting his wife, finding work to support a large family, or being given the opportunity to share in the ministry of Hearts 4 Him as a high tenor in 2025, Brian has seen the Lord work in incredible ways after turning things completely over to Him.
